On a remarkably crisp, clear February day, my friends CJ & Connor decided it would be fun to play a little hooky from work, head up Mt. Lemmon & try our luck at fly fishing at Rose Canyon Lake. As we unfolded out of the car & made the short walk to the lake, we realized we were in for a treat: we were its only visitors. A sizable feat for a lake that sees its fair share of traffic during the year.
The poles came out, the flies were rigged up & we went for broke. Especially considering we didn’t manage to catch a single fish, despite numerous bites & high hopes. Nonetheless, it was a great day to hang with the boys, sneak in a few shots & enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Below are some shots from the mini-adventure.
